• SHOCK MOUNT REPAIR:
The Eames Lounge seat and chair back are held together, under the leather arms, by four black rubber shock mounts. These oval shape mounts give the chair flex when you sit in it, but over time they become brittle and the glue that bonds the shock mount to the plywood can give way. The chair back either then begins to sag or separates completely. We remove the old bushings and replace them with identical Herman Miller parts and reattach them with same glues that Herman Miller uses.
• ZIPPER REPLACEMENT:
We replace the zippers which connect to the perforated fiber board or vinyl shell of later models. We find that the majority of the zipper linings on the oldest Eames Lounge models dry rot over time and can no longer perform under normal stress loads.
• LEATHER CUSHION RESTORATION OR REPLACEMENT:
With years of leather restoration "under our belts" we are the first restoration team to offer both leather replacement and refinishing in combination. While many customers choose a full reupholstery package (we offer hundreds of custom leather colors and textures) most are excited to hear of our ability to restore damaged leather and then custom finish the entire set to guarantee consistent sheen and color for your Eames Lounge. Restoring the leather maintains the original integrity of your Eames Lounge
• WOOD SHELL RESTORATION:
We can restore the original color and beauty of your rosewood or walnut Eames Lounge and Ottoman. The rosewood shells in particular tend to bleach out over time. When restoring the rosewood shells we try to employ all our skills and artistry to bring out the beauty and glow that is inherent in your rosewood.
• NEW CUSHION SETS:
We have chosen two leather so as to match the original leather as close as possible. One is foor the 1950's and early 1960's Lounges and the other for the newer styles Lounges. We have spend a number of years refing our techniques to produce the most authentic look possible.
